A little bit about me. I grew up in Maryland and cut my teeth on the streams of Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. I have been fly fishing since I was 7 and by the time I was twelve I knew the mountain trout streams in the Catoctain Mountains like the back of my hand. As I got older I started fishing the limestone streams of central PA where I learned about tough selective fish. Fish and Fishing was in my blood and when it came time for college I was off to Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA. where I earned a degree in fisheries science and mastered several small streams in the local mountains. After graduation the market for fisheries biologists was very tight and I found my self in Alaska working as a guide at a fly out lodge. I spent two great summers there learning about guides and guiding and I knew I had found my true calling. Alaska was great but I missed dry fly fishing and hatches so I then made my home in Missoula MT where I have been guiding ever since (more than 20 years). I love dry fly fishing and stalking large trout in skinny water. You will find very few guides with the experience level that I have. I am not saying I am the best guide out there but rest assured that if you book with me you will be in great hands and with one of the better guides around.
