There are not many years that the Blackfoot is fishing on June 3 or over Memorial Day Weekend for that matter but this is a non-typical year for sure. Hit the Canyon today with my Dad. Water is still big but not very far into the willows, clarity is at least 2 feet, and the fish are hungry. Pretty much caught fish the entire day with it slowing in the late afternoon. Streamers got the job done and while we didn't get any real big ones, there was a steady flow of 14 to 17" with a couple a little bigger. Here are a few of my Dad's fish today.
With Rock Creek full blown into the Salmonfly hatch, the Blackfoot is only a few days away. I plan to be there.
